Joint Project of Bauska Castle Museum and Raudondvaris Manor Receives Confirmation of Its Nomination for a European Commission Award

On 14 and 15 October, the joint project “The Historic Route: Raudondvaris–Bauska”, developed by Bauska Castle Museum and Raudondvaris Manor, was presented to an international jury in Brussels, Belgium. Confirmation was also received that the project had been nominated for the European Commission’s REGIOSTARS Awards 2026 in the category “A Europe Closer to the Citizens”.
As part of the project, the cultural heritage exhibition at Bauska Castle Museum was enhanced, an open-air military exhibition was established, and the range of thematic programmes was expanded. The museum’s offerings were further enriched with replicas of 16th- and 17th-century musical instruments: a positive organ, a double virginal and a harp. The concert and events programme was also enhanced, providing more opportunities for visitors to explore the castle throughout the year.
Bauska Castle Museum was represented by Ruta Garklāva, Head of the Scientific and Educational Work Department, together with Aistė Varkulevičiūtė, Director of Kaunas District Museum.
We are proud and delighted by the project’s international recognition and the opportunity to bring the name of Bauska Castle Museum to audiences across Europe!
